Her Backstory, Family, and Childhood...
Born to a family of horse tamers and trainers, a path that has been passed down for generations, Kaede is the eldest child of seven, with four sisters and two brothers following her. Both of her parents are still alive and well and run the family business in conjunction with others of their tribe. Her childhood was not difficult, but did come with its own challenges and pains, with her parents being extremely judgmental and controlling of each child's life. Their wealth and position are of utmost importance and anything that threatens continuing their generational history warrants swift removal from their lives. Kaede's life was planned for her, as was the life of each sibling, from the time she was two - an arranged marriage to another tribal family for an alliance coming with political and financial gains, her duties and job already decided for her as well once she was of age and after she married. Financial advisors were commonly involved in their household for various meetings, and Kaede found herself growing more distasteful and resentful of her life with each year that passed. The small Xaela tried to find joy in things, like exploring their homeland with her siblings, venturing slightly outside of it at times if they were certain they could without punishment, and talking to travellers who arrived from other places. Her passion for the stars grew each night she spent beneath them, and in time she learned from scholars of the other worlds each star represented, which only served to make her love them even more.Upon reaching the age of maturity, instead of obeying the life planned for her, Kaede decided to take whatever funds had been set aside for her inheritance, and left her home and family behind. While not dead to her family, she no longer has any ties to their wealth or business and is more of an extended family member or family friend than their daughter, until conversations come up that she is reminded otherwise. Three of her siblings followed her suit, taking what they could of their own inheritance and setting off as well. Originally, the four ventured together from place to place, learning and immersing themselves in varyign cultures and lifestyles until they discovered what moved them, what sparked life. Kaede would stay behind in Gridania after some time while her siblings dispersed to Ul'dah and Limsa, pursuing various jobs and trades of their own that spoke to them more than horsework ever did.Kaede started off working with archers in Gridania, but over time she found the work to be repetitive and unchallenging for her, excelling in it with rather quick ease. Back to adventuring, the woman found herself in taverns and bars, trading drinks for knowledge and wit, betting coin on games of Triad and chess, and found herself in the company of a group of Veena Viera who took her to Thavnair and showed her the world of dance, shaping her into a quick-footed and flexible mover. Coupled with her archery skills, she poured her heart into dance and found herself travelling to perform or work as needed and wanted, occasionally dabbling in animal handling and bonding as needs arose too.Most recently, she has taken to exploring, studying, and trying to learn as much as she can about the world around her as well as arts, magicks, and melee fighting to develop herself into a more impactful individual. Her days are spent writing, reading, people watching, or dancing on beaches or in forests, so keep an eye out for the starry-scaled Xaela!
